The objects of this scheme shall be to promote the combating of certain kinds of weeds with a view to maintaining the production potential of land and to restricting the spread of those kinds of weeds, and to regulate the supply of weed killers purchased by the department out of moneys appropriated by Parliament for the purposes of this scheme.
