| (1) | In the survey of new townships or extensions of townships or the subdivision of an erf, reference marks shall be erected and surveyed as prescribed, so that the positions of the corner points of all pieces of land shown on the general plan may be determined accurately. |
| (2) | The owner of any property damaged by the placing of a reference mark shall be entitled to compensation for the damage. |
