Domestic Violence Act, 1998 (Act No. 116 of 1998)12. Jurisdiction |
| (1) | Any court within the area in which— |
| (a) | the complainant permanently or temporarily resides, studies, carries on business or is employed; |
| (b) | the respondent permanently or temporarily resides, studies, carries on business or is employed; or |
| (c) | the cause of action arose, |
has jurisdiction to grant a protection order as contemplated in this Act.

| (2) | No specific minimum period is required in relation to subsection (1)(a) or (b). |

| (3) | A protection order is enforceable throughout the Republic. |
