The Board must–
| (a) |
advise the Minister on any aspect related to cross-border road transport policy; |
| (b) |
regulate access to the market by the road transport freight and passenger industry in respect of cross-border road transport and cabotage by issuing permits; |

| (i) |
the establishment of co-operative and consultative relationships and structures between public and private sector institutions with an interest in cross-border road transport; |
| (ii) |
the collection, processing and dissemination of relevant information; |
| (iii) |
the provision of training, capacity building and the promotion of entrepreneurship generally and, in particular, in respect of small, medium and micro-enterprises with an interest in cross-border road transport; and |
| (d) |
undertake road transport law enforcement in terms of the Act. |
