NABABET may advise the Minister on any aspect of adult basic education and training on its own initiative and must –
| (a) |
advise the Minister on— |
| (i) |
quality promotion and assurance; |
| (ii) |
any aspect on adult basic education and training at the request of the Minister; |
| (iii) |
National adult basic education and training policy, goals and priorities; |
| (iv) |
norms and standards, including funding norms and the terms, purposes and conditions of earmarked grants; |
| (b) |
report annually to the Minister on the quality of adult basic education and training in respect of the country as a whole, within 90 days after the end of the academic year; |
| (c) |
perform any function assigned or designated to it in terms of any applicable law; |
| (d) |
receive information from the Head of Department, Director-General and any centre which offers adult basic education and training, about the centre or quality of adult basic education and training as is reasonably required by NABABET; |
| (e) |
analyse and disseminate information about adult basic education and training. |
