If a ship is wrecked, stranded or in distress, a salvage officer or person authorised by him or her, may conduct an investigation into any or all of the following matters:

The name and description of the ship; |
| (b) |
the names of the master and of the owners; |
| (c) |
the names of the owners of the cargo; |
| (d) |
the port from and to which the ship was bound; |
| (e) |
the cause of the wrecking, stranding or distress of the ship; |
| (f) |
the services rendered; and |
| (g) |
such other relevant matters or circumstances as he or she deems fit. |
