I, Farzana Fakir, the Acting Commissioner for the Compensation Fund, hereby issue a notice in terms of section 6A of the COID Act to inform all the pensioners, beneficiaries and recipients who receives the monthly pension from the Compensation Fund (CF) to submit the confirmation of life documents before the 30th September 2026 and before 31st March 2027. The submission of the confirmation of life documents will serve as proof of verification of existence of pensioners, beneficiaries and recipients.
This notice will affect all non-South African citizens residing in and outside of South Africa as well as all South African citizens residing outside South Africa. The individuals affected can either be the IOD/OD employees who receive a monthly pension from the (CF) because of disability (in terms of Section 49(4) of CODA), the dependents of deceased pensioners and the guardians receiving pension on behalf of the dependents below the age of 18 years of age (in terms of section 54(1) of COIDA).
Pensioners and beneficiaries who fail to submit the required confirmation of life documents will be suspended and be terminated from the pension payroll file by the 30th September 2026 and by 31st March 2027 with the assumption that the life status of the affected pensioners or beneficiaries is deceased. No reinstatement of pensions will be done for any pensioners or beneficiaries after the termination of such pensions.
All affected pensioners and beneficiaries are hereby called upon to submit the confirmation of life documents as proof of existence to avoid suspension and termination of their monthly pension with the CF.
The following information should be submitted for confirmation of life:
| 1. | Duly Completed Wac 22 form. |
| 2. | Certified copy (within 3 months) of the valid identification documents of the pensioner or beneficiary. |
| 3. | Certified copy (within 3 months) of birth certificates (for children dependents) in the approved format for Non-South African citizens in case there is a foreign child beneficiary who is currently receiving monthly pension. |
| 4. | Confirmation of banking details in the form of a bank letter or three-month bank statement reflecting recent three-month payments from the Fund (3 months from the date of submission). |
| 5. | Duly completed Wac 33 form (Banking details form to be completed by the pensioner or beneficiary with the banking details of his/her account) |
| 6. | Recent proof of residence with the details (name and surname, contacts) of pensioner/ dependent/ dependent under 18 years and the guardian. |
| 7. | Confirmation letter certifying the Compensation Fund to process the payment of pension monthly into the bank account of the foreign third party (only applicable to pensioners who receive their pension through DIRCO, Labour Lesotho and Labour Mozambique). |
| 8. | Confirmation letter from the embassy (applicable for all pensioners and beneficiaries who reside and receive their monthly into their own bank account). |
| 9. | Contactable telephone number or cellphone number of the pensioner or beneficiaries and active email address of the pensioner or beneficiaries. |
The above information should be submitted to the CF via email to #[email protected] with the subject line on the email "Confirmation of life and claim number and or business partner number".
