Honourary Membership

 

2.14 The Council may appoint as an honorary member of the society any attorney who is not a member of the society, whether or not he or she is or has formerly been a practitioner, if in the opinion of the Council he or she has made a significant contribution to the administration of justice or the attorneys' profession.

 

2.15 Any person so appointed shall remain an honorary member of the society during the pleasure of the Council, and may, upon invitation by the Council, attend meetings and other gatherings of  members, but shall have no right of audience, save at the invitation or with the consent of the chairman, shall not have a vote at any meeting of members and shall not be liable for the payment of any subscriptions, levies, or fees, nor shall he or she be eligible for election or appointment to the Council.

 

2.16 The secretary shall keep a record of the names and addresses of all honorary members.
