building society
means-
| a) | a mutual building society as defined in section 1 of the Mutual Building Societies Act, 1965 (Act 24 of 1965), and finally registered or deemed to be registered as a permanent building society in terms of section 5 of that Act; or |
| b) | a building society as defined in section 1 of the Building Societies Act, 1986 (Act 82 of 1986), and finally registered as a building society in terms of section 18 of that Act; |
