7. Removal from office and vacation of office

 

(1) The Minister may, after consultation with the members of the Board, remove a member of the Board from office on account of—
(a) misconduct;
(b) inability to perform the duties of his or her office efficiently;
(c) absence from three consecutive meetings of the Board without the leave of the Board, except on good cause shown.

 

(2) If a member of the Board ceases to hold office or is removed from office in terms of subsection (1), the Minister may appoint a person who meets the criteria contemplated in section 5(5) in that member's place for the remaining part of the term of office.

 

(3) A member must vacate his or her office if—
(a) he or she is disqualified in terms of section 6; or
(b) he or she tenders his or her resignation by written notice to the Minister.
