| (1) |
The Minister may, after consultation with the members of the Board, remove a member of the Board from office on account of— |
| (b) |
inability to perform the duties of his or her office efficiently; |
| (c) |
absence from three consecutive meetings of the Board without the leave of the Board, except on good cause shown. |
| (2) |
If a member of the Board ceases to hold office or is removed from office in terms of subsection (1), the Minister may appoint a person who meets the criteria contemplated in section 5(5) in that member's place for the remaining part of the term of office. |
| (3) |
A member must vacate his or her office if— |
| (a) |
he or she is disqualified in terms of section 6; or |
| (b) |
he or she tenders his or her resignation by written notice to the Minister. |
