| 1) | The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the day-to-day business of the Institute, subject to the directions or instructions, if any, that the board may issue from time to time. |
| 2) | The Chief Executive Officer must— |
| a) | ensure that the functions of the Institute in terms of this Act are performed; |
| b) | report to the board on the proper performance and functioning of the Institute; and |
| c) | compile a report on the activities of the Institute for each financial year and submit the report to the board for approval. |
| 3) | The Chief Executive Officer must exercise all the powers and perform all the duties conferred or imposed on him or her by— |
| a) | this Act; and |
| b) | the board. |
