Provisional Protection as a Heritage Resource

By virtue of the powers vested in the South African Heritage Resources Agency in terms of section 29(1) of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (the Act), read with section 29(1) (a) (iii) of the Act, the properties as fully described in the Schedule hereto are hereby provisionally protected for a period of two years.

 

IRON AGE ROCK ENGRAVING, BLOOMPLAATS, LYDENBURG DISTRICT

1) Description: The site with the Iron Age Engraving thereon, situated on farm Boomplaats 29JT, Lydenburg District, Mpumalanga in extent 1027,8434 (one zero two seven comma eight four three four) hectares.

 

THE HISTORIC TOWNHOUSE, AT 35 UNGE STREET, LYDENBURG

2) Description:The property with the historic townhouse situated on Portion 4 of Erf 76.

 

OLD NELSPRUIT CATHOLIC CHURCH, 38 NEL STREET, NELSPRUlT

3) Description:The property with the Old Nelspruit Catholic Church, at 38 Nel Street, Nelspruit.

 

SITE OF THE MOZAMBICAN TRAIN DISASTER, SITUATED AT ELANDSPRUlT

4) Description:The bridge crossing the Elandspruit at Waterval Boven Town and an area of surrounding land as well as the mass grave in the local cemetery.
