| (1) |
An importer or exporter of waste must keep accurate and up to date records that reflect: |
| (a) |
classification of the waste; |
| (c) |
origin/source of waste; |
| (d) |
destination of waste; |
| (e) |
date of import or export |
| (f) |
safe disposal certificates where applicable; and |
| (g) |
if applicable, the South African Waste Information System (SAWIS) registration number in terms of the National Waste Information Regulations, 2013 |
| (2) |
The records contemplated in regulation 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 must be— |
| (a) |
retained for a period of at least five years; and |
| (b) |
made available to the competent authority upon request. |
