| (1) |
| (a) | The council shall from time to time make rules specifying the acts or omissions in respect of which the council or a professional board, as the case may be, may take disciplinary action under this Chapter: Provided that the powers of the council or a professional board to inquire into and take any action in connection with any complaint, charge or allegation of improper or disgraceful conduct against any practitioner in terms of this Chapter, shall not be limited to the acts or omissions so specified. |
| (b) | Any rule contemplated in paragraph (a) referring to an allied health profession shall only be made after consultation with the professional board concerned. |

| (2) | No rule made under subsection (1) shall be of force and effect until approved by the Minister and published in the Gazette. |
| (3) | The Minister may after consultation with the executive committee of the council, subject to subsection (1)(b), and if he deems it to be in the public interest, amend or repeal any rule made under subsection (1). |
